The ring comprises a first element 1 intended to surround at least the upper part of the periphery of a finger and a second element 2 intended to surround the complementary part of this periphery, one of the ends of the first element 1 being mounted in an articulated manner on the adjacent end of the second element 2 and the other end of the first element 1 being joined to the adjacent end of the second element 2 by means of a curved spring leaf 4 integral with one of the ends in question and penetrating into the hollow end of the adjacent element. The ring has no means for locking the free end of the spring leaf 4 and the latter is sufficiently long to oppose a substantial resistance to extension and contraction of the ring. <IMAGE>
