A hydraulic press for moulding, in partic., large thin-walled components such as vehicle parts in reinforced plastics or similar has a lower beam carrying the hydraulic cylinder to move the lower platen and the lower mould tool, an upper beam carrying the top mould tool and connected to the lower beam by the corner columns; this upper system is brought down to close the press by other cylinders in the lower beam. The top beam can be adjusted to its position on the columns which, however, are fixed to the lower beam.
