The washing process uses a liquid distillate. The liquid in a collection container is heated using condensers in a heat pump for evaporation. Vapour from the liquid is cooled for condensing using the evaporator in the heat pump, and then the distillate is connected for use in the washing process. - The distillate is conducted o one or more washing vessels, where its evaporation is prevented by it being maintained cooled using either the evaporator attached to the heat pump or a further such unit. Condensation and washing occur in a closed system, the distillate from the series-connected washing vessels being fed back to the collection container. The heat absorbed in the vapour and in the washing vessel is transferred via the condensers to the liquid in the collection container, and via an additional condenser to a space for drying the objects.
