Paper support for photographic layers

The invention relates to a photographic paper support for photographic layers containing a silver salt. The support comprises a neutral internal adhesive and contains a cationic reinforcing agent. The support is treated with at least one organic acid which is a polyfunctional acid with acid groups separated by at most 3 carbon atoms and/or a hydroxyacid capable of forming an internal complex. The supports in question reduce the formation of a fog.
