Venetian blinds weighting strips

Weighting strips (1) at the bottom of each slat (9) of vertical Venetian blinds are normally made of metal, coated with plastic which ages and develops cracks so that rust marks make the weighting strips look unsightly. This has been overcome by making the weighting strips of a homogeneous material of high specific gravity, the preferred material being polypropylene with a filler of barium sulphate.
