The subject of the invention relates to a device for compensating for drift by lateral dampers of a pivoting mast. It consists of the combination of the articulation 10 of the base of the mast allowing it transverse oscillation with flexible half-tensioned attachments 6, 7 of the shrouds 1, 2, 3, 4 linking it to the hull.
