In a device for collecting dog excrement and other soiling, two elongate scraper parts are inserted into opposing slits near to the bag aperture and, in order to collect the excrement, are folded around the edge of the bag aperture in such a manner that their scraping ends, together with the excrement, come to rest inside the bag. The bag can then be closed by means of a draw-string or the like, and the odour can largely be eliminated by an odour-absorbing medium.
