A prismatic retaining strip (10) which is held in a positively-locking manner on the stator and through which cooling air flows can be pushed axially between the main pole coil (8) and the commutating pole coil (9), which retaining strip (10) rests in axial extent on the main pole (3), the main pole coil (8) and the commutating pole coil (9). The commutating poles (6) which can be mounted on the yoke (3) are adjusted centrally with respect to the main poles (3) by the supporting strips (10) which are guided on both sides in longitudinal slots (3B, 4D) in the stator (19). <IMAGE>
