A description is given of room-sized, U-shaped reinforced-concrete profiles which, located on top of one another or next to one another, form a self-supporting skeleton for buildings and are characterised by the flexurally rigid design of the wall/floor connection, the floor underside and inner side and, if appropriate, also the wall outer side, which can be painted or wallpapered and, as necessary, built-in empty pipes for installations. Skeletons of buildings are erected from such profiles and fitted out with commercially available materials. The advantages of industrial manufacture and the capacity for alteration of the ground plans become available also to the small-scale building owner who can only build his house by his own efforts (see Drawing 1). <IMAGE>
