A line arrangement for internal combustion engines functioning with diesel oil as fuel provides for an intake line through which the fuel is fed from a fuel tank by way of a filter to a feed pump, and a return line, by way of which the excess fuel is returned from the feed pump into the fuel tank. In order to ensure reliable operation of the internal combustion engine without the risk of clogging of the line system even in those operating conditions in which, owing to the prevailing temperatures and possible fuel grades paraffin is precipitated, it is proposed to provide a device (7) which connects the return line (6a) in a first position to the intake line (5b), preferably at a point in front of the filter (2) and in a second position to the fuel tank (1). If necessary a further position could also be provided in which the return line (6a) is connected to the intake line (5d) at a point after the filter (2).
