A hacksaw (10) has a frame which consists of three sectional pieces (12, 14, 16). The sectional pieces are extruded aluminium sections. The upper arm (12) and the yoke (16) on the one hand, and the latter and the lower arm (14) on the other hand, are connected positively to one another. Provided for this purpose in one sectional piece are webs which extend in the longitudinal direction of the section and are pushed into transverse grooves (42) of the respectively connected sectional piece. The positive connection guarantees absolute parallelism of the two arms (12, 14). The frame is easy to assemble. The sectional pieces can be locked by means of bolts (50, 56). Various sizes of axle differ solely in the differing lengths of the arm (12, 14) and, if required, different heights of the yoke (16). <IMAGE>
