A level control valve (10, 11, 12) is proposed, which is provided with a double seat valve (48, 49, 50). Both valve seats (48 and 49) are adjustable with pistons (33, 43), in order to adjust the range in which the level control valve (10, 11, 12) functions. In this way the vehicle can be steplessly brought to a higher or a lower ground clearance by means of a range setting device (26) and the level control valve (10, 11, 12) is fully operative at any preselected height. The level control valve is particularly suitable for vehicles which have to run on greatly varying surfaces, both on motorways and in open country. <IMAGE>
