PURPOSE:To detect even a fine defect of a strip precisely and to improve flaw detection efficiency by using a rectangular parallelopiped as an iron core and setting the ratio of the thickness of the iron core and the length in a coil wind direction to 0.02-0.2. CONSTITUTION:The core in a rectangular parallelopiped shape is used and wound with a magnetic flow detection coil for detecting the flaw of a material to be detected; and the coil is spaced slightly to the material to be detected. The ratio of the length of the core in the coil wind direction and the thickness is set to 0.02-0.2. Consequently, the intensity of a magnetic field generated by the magnetic flaw detection coil in a stripe plate surface direction is made uniform and the part where the intensity is made uniform is increased in area. |
