PURPOSE:To provide optical glass parts which can cut scattering from their edge by forming an extremely thin layer of a material which does not allow the transmission of light having the wavelength to be used near the edge. CONSTITUTION:An extremely thin layer 5 is formed near the edge of an optical glass product 1 such as a lens by depositing, for example, an opaque material, by evaporation to narrow considerably the width of the edge. The thickness of the film deposited by evaporation is several mu or below at the highest and the light reflected from the edge of the film is decreased to a neglibile level. Ni and Cr are used as the opaque material to form said film. |
