The electrical values predetermined in the manufacture of an electrical priming cap (5) for cartridge ammunition of machine guns can be changed unfavourably when the priming cap (5) is being pressed into a cartridge case (2) or into a priming screw. Critical for this are the radial forces which occur during the operation of pressing the priming cap (5) into the cartridge case (2) and which unfavourably change the pressure in the priming composition (22) in relation to the high-tension detonating agent or to the electrical part. An arrangement free of radial forces in respect of the priming composition (22) or the high-tension detonating agent leads to reproducible electrical values of the priming cap (5) ready-mounted in the cartridge case (2). For this, the priming cap (5) is held over a first portion (34) in the recess (30, 31) of the cartridge case (2) with a relatively low press fit. A second priming-cap portion (35) surrounded by an annular cavity (40) guarantees that the priming composition (22) and the electrical pole piece (15) carrying the high-tension detonating agent remain uninfluenced by radial forces. <IMAGE>
