PURPOSE:To improve combustion and volumetric efficiency by opening and closing an auxiliary suction valve as well as a main suction valve according to rotational speed to control swirl of suction sir in a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A control lever 6 which is controlled by an eccentric cam 9 is disposed between a main suction valve 3 an auxiliary suction valve 4 and a rocker arm 7. The eccentric cam 9 is turned manually or automatically according to r.p.m. of an engine. The auxiliary suction valve 4 is widely opened in the low rotational speed range of the engine to produce an intense swirl in a cylinder while the auxiliary suction valve 4 is not opened in the high rotational speed range, thereby weakening the swirl. Deterioration of both combstion and volumetric efficiency in the high speed range may be thus prevented. |
