PURPOSE:To insert a picture to a desired position accurately at all times by inserting and recording a new picture signal while leaving horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals recorded in advance on a tape recorded already as they are. CONSTITUTION:When the tape 1 after recording is reproduced and the tape comes to a desired position of insertion while monitoring the tape by a monitor 11, an inserting command is given to a recording/reproducing changeover timing circuit 8 and then recording/reproducing changeover switches 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b are switched to the recording terminal P. A timing signal generated from the changeover timing circuit 8 is generated only at the video signal period of a reproduced video signal (Fig. a) as shown in Fig. (b) and does not appear at the synchronizing signal period. Thus, when the insertion command is given to a device in the normal reproducing mode, the changeover timing signal is transmitted from the timing circuit 8 only during the period given by the command afterward and the recording mode is obtained. |
