PURPOSE:To easily re-utilize peeled scale in a dip-forming process, by cutting the peeled scale cut from a strand to form chip which are, in turn, directly thrown into a holding furnace for supplying a molten metal into a crucible furnace. CONSTITUTION:In a dip-forming process, a chip forming apparatus 19 is arranged between a peeling die and a holding furnace 16. The peeled scale 17 formed by the peeling die is formed into chip 18 each having a length of about 50mm. or less by a cutter roller 21 and the chips 18 are sent to the upper part of the molten metal pouring chamber 25 of the holding furnace 16 by a conveyor apparatus 20 to be thrown into said molten metal pouring chamber 25 through an opening part 28. The thrown-in chips 18 are immersed in the molten bath M to be melted within a short time and again adhered to a seed wire along with the molten bath M. In this case, there is no lowering in the characteristics and quality of a product as dipped material such as tough pitch copper, by the re-utilization of the peeled scale 17. |
