<p>PURPOSE:To contrive to perform steady ignition by a method wherein a combustion chamber is provided at the inlet side of a collecting device provided in an exhaust system of a Diesel engine via an open/close door, then the opening and closing operations of the open/close door are controlled at the detection of clogging in a collecting device and at the confirmation of an ignition inside a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 6 is provided at the inlet side of a collecting device 5 which is interposed into the intermediate part of an exhaust system 4 and used for collecting soots contained in an exhaust gas, while a burner 7 for fuel injection is arranged inside said chamber 6. The fuel supplying for the burner 7 is controlled with a plunger 8 and a cam 9 annexed to a fuel injection pump 2. An air passage 11 is opened to the combustion chamber 6 for introducing an auxiliary combustion air, a fuel is ignited and burned with an igniting means 20 under supplying of the auxiliary air. Further, the combustion chamber 6 is communicated to the collecting device 5 via the open/close door 14, which is closed at the detection of clogging of the collecting device 5 with a pressure detector 13, then the combustion is started by turning ON of the igniting means 20, and the regeneration of the collecting device 5 is performed by opening the open/close door 14 at the comfirmation of the ignition with the pressure detector 13.</p> |
