PURPOSE:To prepare the titled material having high strength in low installation cost and operation cost, by a method wherein a reinforcing fiber bonded in a lumpy shape put in a casting mold is heated to a specific temp. range along with the casting mold and the heated reinforcing fiber is impregnated with a molten matrix metal which is, in turn solidified in a pressing state. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing fiber bonded in a lumpy shape is directly put in a casting mold and heated to a temp. lower than the melting start temp. of a matrix metal or alloy but higher than (melting start temp. -100 deg.C) along with the casting mold. In this state, the hot molt of the aforementioned metal or alloy is poured into the casting mold and subsequently pressed by a plunger to impregnate the lumpy reinforcing fiber with said molten metal while the pressing state is held until the molten metal is solidified. |
