PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by using an auxiliary light source for range finding, and stopping range finding operation and also stopping the emission of auxiliary light after focusing is completed. CONSTITUTION:When the charging of the main capacitor of a flash device 55 as the auxiliary light source is completed, a signal is inputted from a terminal T2 to an auxiliary light control circuit 53; and an image signal by a sensor (CCD)1 is accumulated and a signal is sent from a terminal N to the flash device 55, which turns on to light up a suject. The image signal from the sensor 1 is sent to a focusing extent arithmetic circuit 2 in series to calculate the out-of-focus extent, which is sent to a motor control circuit 51 to drive a motor 10 through a motor driving circuit 52, moving the photographic lens until a focusing state is obtained. At the same time, a focusing signal from a motor control circuit 51 is inputted to the auxiliary light control circuit 53 to stop the accumulating operation of the sensor 1 and the light emission of the flash device. Thus, the power consumption is reduced. |
