PURPOSE:To obtain a stable heat-sensitive recording material capable of given high-sensity color pictures having lesser fogging before chromogenic reaction, much lesser fading of color pictures and little sublimable property by using an electron-donative colorless dye and a specific electron acceptor compound. CONSTITUTION:A desired heat-sensitive recording material is obtained by using an electron donative colorless dye [e.g., 3,3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-6-dimethylaminophthalide] and an electron acceptor compound (e.g., 4-diphenylmethylphenol) of the formula (where Z is diarylalkyl and X is H or a halogen). In a general manufacturing method, said electron donative colorless dye and said electron acceptor compound are separately dispersed in an amount of 1-10wt% into a water-soluble high polymer solution and an inorganic pigment is added to the dispersion to prepare a paint liquid. The paint liqid is coated on a base material. |
