<p>PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the generation of defective plywood in a veneer inserter by disposing a veneer detector in the position apart at a prescribed distance from a detector for the end edge of veneer and checking the undersized veneer. CONSTITUTION:A detector 4 which detects one end edge 3a is provided in a prescribed ruler position 10 and a veneer detector 11 is provided at a prescribed distance L from the detector 4. When a veneer 3 is grasped by a regulating roll 1 and a pressing roll 2, a forward and backward actuating device 7 is actuated forward by the signal from the detector 5 via a controller 6 to move the veneer 3 in the direction orthogonal to its fibers. When the one end edge 3a of the veneer 3 arrives at the position 10, the forward movement of the device 7 is halted. On the other hand, a driving device 8 is run via the controller 6 and the veneer is inserted into a gluer by a veneer inserter A only when the detector 11 provided apart at distance L equal to the min. veneer width from the detector 4 emits the signal confirming the veneer.</p> |
