PURPOSE:To improve the operability in terms of print conditions by calculating the relation to the paper width and displaying the margin value when the left/ right margins, the number of characters and the character pitch are given as the print conditions. CONSTITUTION:The left margin L, the right margin R, the number of characters of a line N and the character pitch P stored in a memory means 12 are transferred to registers 13-16 respectively. An adder 17 adds both margins L and R together and supplies this sum to an input terminal of a subtractor 21. A multiplier 18 multiplies the number N by the pitch P and supplies the result of this multiplication to both a comparator 23 and a subtractor 22. A subtraction (B- A) is carried out by the subtractor 21 between the output A of the multiplier 18 and the paper width B. The comparator 23 decides whether the amounts of left and right margins are insufficient. Then the output of the subtractor 22 is displayed in the form of the possible maximum margin amount. |
