PURPOSE:To obtain a color photographic sensitive silver halide material having superior spectral absorption characteristics and giving an image with little color stain and improved shelf stability by incorporating a specified phenol type cyan coupler. CONSTITUTION:A phenol type cyan coupler having a substituent represented by formula I (where R<1> is halogen or a univalent org. group, n is 0-3, and when n is >=2, the substituents R<1> may be different from each other) at the 2-position of the phenol ring and an acylamino group at the 5-position of the phenol ring is incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer. For example, the coupler is represented by formula II. Favorable image characteristics such as superior sensitivity, color density and color reproducibility as well as superior resistance to light, heat and moisture can be provided, and stain is prevented. |
