The invention relates to traps for flying insects which attract them into the interior of a receptacle of any cross-section where they can be destroyed. It operates during the day by the application of sugary products and at night by means of a light emitted from the interior. The principle on which the different trap models operate is indentical. The inclined plates 2 and 3 or the conical part 8, which are preferably transparent, and are fixed to the top of the receptacle, cause the insects to fall into the interior of the trap when one of their wings touches the inclined parts. The arrangement of the plates and of the truncated cone prevents them from escaping when their wings are extended. The chief advantages of the present invention are: its effectiveness day and night; and the economy of its manufacture, making it possible to use recycled objects. Anybody can make these traps in their spare time. <IMAGE>
