Forced feed oil lubrication for rotating vacuum pumps

The invention relates to forced feed oil lubrication for rotating vacuum pumps. Its aim is to reduce the drive power. The object of the invention was to reduce the oil dynamic pressure in the event of a cold start and the oil return flow when the pump is switched off. The solution includes known elements: an oil pump arranged in a bearing journal of the rotor, oil pressure ducts to the lubricating grooves of the bearing journals and the oil slots into the pump chamber, an oil suction line into the oil supply and an oil duct connected to the pressure side with outlet aperture close to the outlet valve. According to the invention it is proposed that the oil suction line be composed of a section leading above the maximum oil level and a section ending in the oil supply. The lubricating groove of one of the two bearing journals is connected by way of a duct to a relief valve.
