Known partition pipes have the disadvantage that the upper rear part of the animal often makes undesirable contact with the lowermost pipe part, as a result of which first of all pressure points and later injuries to the hide occur. These disadvantages are eliminated by the lower part of the partition pipe being divided essentially into two sections. The front part is less remote from the ground of the stall than the rear part, as a result of which, when the animal is in its lying position, the relatively large rear portion of its body remains free from the partition pipe. The front portion of the animal's body, however, remains separated by the low partition parts. The transition runs in a slightly bent manner.
