Plantable ashlar, in particular made of lightweight concrete, for erecting plantable walls, with soil chambers which are open at the top and at the bottom in the ashlar centre, with a trough-shaped recess extending along one visible side for the development of plants, the ashlars being arranged in rows above one another in layers, rotated by 180 DEG and staggered by half an ashlar length, in such a manner that in each case the trough-shaped recess of an ashlar of an upper layer is situated above the soil chambers of two stones of a lower layer and vice versa, and the soil chambers, although closed at the bottom, passing in the central region of the ashlar into extensions which are open at the top and at the bottom, while the front surfaces have vertically extending recesses and the ashlar centre has a passage opening in such a manner that half the cross-section of the passage opening is equal in size and shape to the cross-section of the vertical recess, so that there are alternately formed in the wall cavities consisting of passage openings and vertical recesses, in which latter reinforcing anchors or door and window frames can be let in. |
