PURPOSE:In an alcohol fuel engine, to prevent occurrence of insufficient control negative pressure by operating a reciprocal pump through reformed gas pressure to produce negative pressure and functioning a negative pressure actuator through a surge tank. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust bypass valve 6 for regulating exhaust gas flow to a reformer 1 is controlled by a negative pressure actuator 8 through a solenoid valve 19 to be functioned by a command from a controller 21 by the negative pressure of an intake manifold 14 through a negative pressure regulator 16. Under low speed, intermediate load continuous operation, when the control negative pressure of a surge tank 22 drops below setting level, the controller 21 will turn on-off a three-way solenoid valve 34 through a signal from a pressure sensor 23 while to function a reciprocal pump 30 through the reformed gas pressure from a feed pipe 36 thus to drop the pressure in the surge tank 22. Consequently the control negative pressure of negative pressure actuator 8 will never be insufficient, to control the exhaust bypass valve reliably from full-open to full-close under all operational conditions. |
