PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE COMPLEX

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composite complex capable of exhibiting physical property values and behavior as an independent compound not as a mixture, by reacting iodide of different nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound cations with TCNQ in a specific solvent while heating and depositing crystals in the above-mentioned solvent. CONSTITUTION:Iodides of two or more different nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound cations are reacted with a (substituted) TCNQ expressed by the formula (R and R' are H or lower alkyl) at 3:4 molar ratio of the total of the former to the latter in an organic solvent in which all of the complexes formed from respective iodides and at least one complex thereof can be recrystallized, preferably acetonitrile, while heating for a given time. Crystals are then deposited in the above-mentioned solvent or two or more complexes consisting of the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound cations and (substituted) TCNQ are used at an optional ratio to carry out the treatment similar to that described above and afford the aimed organic electrically conductive composite complex.
