<p>Appts. for ambulatory intraperitoneal dialysis of a patient comprises two containers one of which is initially empty for receiving exhausted liq. drained from the peritoned cavity and the other contg. peritoneal dialysis liq. Tubing connects each container to a Y-shaped junction and a common tubing which has a sterile needle at its distal end for reception by a Y-shaped junction connected to the peritoneal catheter. The Y-shaped junction has puncturable membranes which define a chamber for contg. a sterilising or antiseptic medium. - The provision of the puncturable connection eliminates septic penitonitis. The patient is rendered entirely free and independent from the system during the period between exchanges.</p> |
