PURPOSE:To provide a clutch which permits rotation and unrotation of right and left drive shafts to be desirably selected by adjustment of a restrained condition of balls, and may provide a large torque owing to restraint of several balls, and further may be simplified in structure and lightened in weight. CONSTITUTION:During rotation of spur gear 1 by gear meshing, when a pawl 19 is moved to the spur gear 1, balls 10 are restrained in a ball restraining recess by a ball pushing slidable tube 12 which accommodates the balls 10 in a ball accommodating holes 3 of a holding pipe, and as a result, a drive shaft 4 is rotated with the spur gear 1. When the pawl 19 is outwardly moved by operation of a lever 18, the balls 10 escape to a ball relief curved portion 15' and are relieved of restrained condition, and as a result, rotation of the spur gear 1 is not transmitted to a drive shaft 4'. This operation is carried out with respect to both the drive shafts 4 and 4', and rotation and forcible stoppage may be desirably provided. |
