PURPOSE:To handle many kinds of fixed-form information without degrading the use efficiency of a line, by providing a storage device where plural format data are held in the terminal side to make the manual intervention on the terminal side unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:A format designating code ID112 of a business form and variable data 113 are transmitted from a central computer 100 and are received in a receiving buffer 106. A data control part 102 analyzes this data to transfer variable data 113 to a buffer 107 and reads out format data (for example, 111) corresponding to the format ID112 from a storage device 103 and transfers it to a buffer 108. Variable data in the buffer 107 and format data in the buffer 108 are edited together and are transferred to an output buffer. Edited data in the buffer 109 is outputted to a printer 104 or a display device 105.
