<p>A sliding caliper disc brake has a fixed carrier carrying directly and indirectly actuated pads. A caliper is slidably mounted on the carrier and carries brake actuators. The backing plates of the pads are provided with ribs for engagement in corresponding grooves in the carrier and arranged to provide additional support for the caliper, in use, in the vertical direction.</p> |
