PURPOSE:To make it possible to handle a remaining document as effective data, by replacing a data block of an external storage device, where an error occurs, with another idle data block with an error processing control part. CONSTITUTION:An external storage device 6 has file constitution of document files which are divided to levels by document and page. An error processing control part 8 which processes the error for read/write of data from the external storage device 6 is provided, and a central processing part 2 which controls the external storage device 6 and the error processing control part 8 is provided. If an error occurs when document data from the external storage device is read or written, the damage due to the error is limited to every document and every page by this file constitution. The data block of the external storage device 6 where the error occurs is replaced with another idle data block by the error processing control part 8, and remaining document data is handled as effective data. |
