PURPOSE:To shorten the data transfer time, by using a directory part to perform the directory check with a read command from a CPU and sending data to the CPU in accordance with corresponding directory information at a cache hit time. CONSTITUTION:If the read request which indicates data read from a disk device 201 is given from a CPU 101 to a disk controller 30, the controlller 30 uses a designated disc address to retrieve all of the area of a directory part 32 when accepting this read request. Next, the controller 30 checks whether a cache memory 31 is hitted with retrieval or not. In case of a cache miss as the result, the controller 30 controls the designated device 201 to read corresponding data. The controller 30 transfers read data to the CPU 101 and stores it in the memory 31. |
