Automatic sand box moulding machine - with fluid-filled counter-mould for final sand compaction

Machine has a framework (1) with a hopper (2) to feed sand to a frame (3) and a moulding box, the frame and the moulding box being movable towards the top of the framework by a plunger (15). A rack support (11), having a fluid-filled flexible chamber constituting a counter-mould, is placed between the frame and the moulding box. Around the hopper is a compressed air tank (13) connected to an injector unit (10) for initial compaction of the sand i the moulding box. Final compaction is effected by raising the plunger so that the counter-mould presses on the sand. Machine has a simple construction, high performance, and reduced dimensions and the abrasive capacity of the sand is cancelled while achieving the required degree of compaction.
