METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING STRIP-SHAPED ANTISLIDE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To fit an antislide material satisfactorily into a stripe groove of an article without degrading it by a method wherein a strip-shaped antislide material slightly wider than the width thereof is bent along the length thereof, fitted into the stripe groove with the outer surface side of the bent part reduced widthwise and then, pressed forward gradually. CONSTITUTION:An antislide material 2 held at the specified position is bent with a bender 6 and can be fitted into a stripe groove 3 of a molding 1 easily with the outer surface thereof reduced. Then, a bending mechanism 6 moves along the groove of the molding 1 while pressing the antislide material 2 with a pressed roller 7 so that a part of the antislide material 2 is inserted into the stripe groove 3 to one end thereof 2. The antislide material 2 is supported between the press roller 7 and a guide roller 9 and thus the bent state is maintained to facilitate the fitting thereof.
