PURPOSE:To prevent the production of pin holes and breakage by changing the posture of a preformed substance and mounting the substance on a stamper when a conductive disc type recording medium is prepared by subjecting the substance to compression molding. CONSTITUTION:A preformed substance 6 is obtained by extruding a conductive disc material 5 from an extruder 1 inbetween two plates 2, 3 capable of parting from each other relative to the same axis. When the compression molding is effected, the preformed substance 6 is mounted on a stamper in such a manner that its portion in contact with the plate 3 becomes the bottom or it is turned sideways to make its sides in the vertical direction to the bottom, or it is inversely mounted to make its bottom face the plate 3 at an angle of 45 deg..
