PURPOSE:To simplify circuit constitution and to improve reliability by detecting time of output obtained by reflected light of colored part of an original pressing face through a light receiving section. CONSTITUTION:An original is pressed at the time of copying by an original pressing cover 3 in which plural colored parts are provided at intervals corresponding to the size of original on the original pressing face 3a. On the other hand, a detecting element 21 that receives reflected light from the original or original pressing face 3a irradiated by a projector 4 and the projector 4 that irradiates the face of original are provided. Time information outputted from the colored parts detected by the detecting element 21 and information stored beforehand in the controlling section of the body are compared. Colored part is judged by coincidence of information, and the size of original is detected. In this way, circuit constitution is made simple, and reliability is improved. |
