PURPOSE:To make it possible to install an additional apparatus to an existing wind tunnel, by providing a measuring drum having a ventilating wall, which guides an air flow to a body under test that is arranged in the inside, and providing a plenum chamber, which is arranged at the outer surface of said measuring drum by an airtight manner. CONSTITUTION:In a flow speed control system, a measuring drum 1, wherein a body under test M is arranged in the inside, is provided. The measuring drum 1 has a ventilating wall provided with many holes 1A. A plenum chamber 4 is arranged at the outer surface of the measuring drum 1 by an airtight manner. The downstream side of the measuring drum 1 is cut, and an opening 5 is formed at the outer surface of the downstream end of the measuring drum 1. A hydraulic cylinder 7 moves a continuous member 6 to and fro in the direction perpendicular to the flow of air 2. An opening adjusting mechanism is formed by the continuous member 6 and the hydraulic cylinder 7. Thus the apparatus can be installed additionally in an existing wind tunnel, its structure is simple, and a complicated system is not required. |
