SINGLE MAGNETIC POLE TYPE MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To obtain a single magnetic pole type magnetic head for vertical magnetic recording and reproducing by which a high density recording characteristic of a device is obtained for a long range without the generation of a ditch on a head surface by using a low melting point glass as an adhesive so as to form an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:The powder of low melting point glass mixed with an organic binder is coated uniformly on a face forming a soft magnetic film 9a of a nonmagnetic base 5a (magnetic pole forming face). It is desirable that the thickness of is coating is nearly equal to the thickness of the soft magnetic film 9a or slightly thicker than it. The adhesive layer 10 formed by coating is dried for a scheduled time and then butted to a mirror-polished side face of the nonmagnetic base 5b made of the same type of material and formed the same in this way. Moreover, the nonmagnetic bases 5a, 5b are sintered while being pressed from the back side and the single magnetic pole type magnetic head is completed.
