PURPOSE:To increase the braking torque by engaging a stator core with a braking side end of a rotor core and providing an extension for generating magnetic attraction force on an axially movable rotary brake plate. CONSTITUTION:A rotary brake plate 24 is attracted to a direction opposite to a stationary brake plate 5 by energizing a rotor core 2 to space braking surfaces. The braking side end of the core 2 is projected from the end face of the rotor 26 which is mounted on a rotational shaft 3, and an annular space 27 is formed at the center of the braking side end of a rotor core 26a. The plate 24 is movably supported to the shaft 3 only in an axial direction, and oppsed extensions 24a are provided at a space 27 to the outer periphery of the space 27 of the rotor core 26a and at a gap (g) to the inner periphery of the braking side end of the core 2 on the plate 24. An axial magnetic attraction is generated between the core 2 and the brake side end and the extensions 24a of the rotor core 26a upon energizing. |
