PURPOSE:To increase the dielectric strength of a coated film face by utilizing the movement of orientation of magnetic particles in a magnetic paint in the processing of orietation so as to adjust the surface roughness of the coated film in the manufacture of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk having a magnetic coated film not dried is mounted horizontally to a spindle 2. magnets 4, 5 are descended and elevated respectively from a position shown in broken lines and stopped with a specified distance to the coated film face. Then, the spindle 2 is rotated in a specified number of revolutions for a specified time in the direction of arrow 6 and magnetic particles are oriented in the direction of arrow 7. The magnet 4 is arranged on a position shown in Figure and the magnetic coating film 8 of the disk 1 is effected alternately from both magnets. In order to satisfy the electromagnetic characteristic, the disk 1 is rotated in the magnetic field and the orientating state of the magnetic particles in the coating film 8 is brought to a prescribed state. The processing of orientation is finished in 60 seconds at 30 rpm, i.e., while a point of the magnetic disk 1 passes through the magnets for 240 times. |
