PURPOSE:To cope easily with varied operation modes such as unattended operation and remote maintenance of an information processing device, by discriminating an electric power supply on indicating source of the information processing device and controlling whether automatic IPL (initial program loading) should be performed or not on a basis of this discrimination result. CONSTITUTION:A power supply controlling part 13 turns on or off a device power supply part 14 on a basis of the indication from a switch of a panel part 11 provided in a processing device 10, a timer part 12, a remote maintenance center connected by a communication line 20, or the like. The power supply controlling part 13 is provided with indicators which discriminate respective power-on indicating sources of the panel part 11, the timer part 12, and the line. An IPL execution discriminating part 15 discriminates whether automatic IPL should be executed or not in accordance with states of indicators indicating respective power-on indicating sources, and the IPL execution discriminating part 15 instructs an IPL executing part 16. The IPL executing part 16 receives the indication from the IPL execution discriminating part 15 to load an initial program from an external storage device or the like. |
