PURPOSE:To facilitate assembly of a cover glass and enable the adhesion surface to be flattened by assembling plural glass plates to form a cylindrical case through adhesion, cutting the thus formed cylindrical case into round slices to make spacer members and sticking the spacer member to a flat glass plate. CONSTITUTION:After plural rectangular glass plates 11a-11e consisting of soda glass are assembled into a cylindrical body, end surfaces of a pair of glass plates 11a and 11b forming a plane of the cylindrical body are separated before the glass plates 11a-11e are airtightly stuck together with a gap provided between the glass plates 11a and 11b thereby making cylindrical case 13. Next a number of exhaust tubes 12 are attached inside the above gap along the longitudinal direction at equal pitch before the case 13 is cut along a cutting line 14 into a round slice to make a spacer member 15 including the exhaust tube 12. After that frit glass 20b is applied to the cut surface of the spacer member 15 or the adhesion surface of a front glass plate 16 before the spacer member 15 and the front glass plate 16 are stuck together by sintering, thereby obtaining a cover glass. |
