PURPOSE:To prevent damage due to the temperature rise of a separating member by spacing the separating member which is normally in a contact state by a temperature rise exceeding a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:The separating member 8 is divided into plural parts in the longitudinal direction of a fixing roller 3 and provided to the fixing roller so that they contact and space the fixing roller through springs 14 and 15 about a shaft 5 as a fulcrum; and one spring 14 uses shape memory alloy. This spring 14 memorizes a spacific shape so that the spring shrinks when heated up to specific temperature. When this spring 14 shrinks, the separating member 8 spaces the surface of the fixing roller, and the spring 14 restores itself below the specific temperature to bring the separating member 8 into contact with the fixing roller surface by the tensile force of the spring 15, attaining the purpose. |
