The suspension to be purified is introduced by means 9 into a rotating vessel 1 which is housed inside a stationary housing 19. A static injector 13 mixes a gas with the suspension to be purified so that bubbles entraining the light impurities collect and are discharged at 10 at the free surface 6 of the mass of suspension 4 held in the vessel 1. Heavy impurities are discharged via a region 27 of greater diameter of the housing and the purified suspension via an opening 24 of the housing.
