PURPOSE:To improve positioning accuracy in the stage of closing dies and to perform surely the same for a long period of time by providing fixing surfaces intersecting orthogonally with the direction spacing from the holders of segmental dies behind said holders and intruding wedging members between the holders and the fixing surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A blank material W is supplied to a forging machine and holders 3, 4 fixed with dies 1, 2 are advanced from a retreat position to a direction P and a ram 14 is advanced in a direction S with some delay. Then the edge metals 19, 23 of members 16, 20 intrude into the spaces 12a, 12b between the liner faces 10a of a frame 11 and the rear faces 3a, 4a of the holders to advance further the holders 3, 4, thereby completing the closing of the dies 1, 2. The ram 14 is further advanced and where a punch 9 is advanced by a prescribed stroke S, a blank material W is accepted in a hole 9a and an inside punch 15 is advanced thereby completing prescribed flanging. The positioning in the stage of closing the dies is thus accomplished surely with good accuracy for a long period of time. |
